BITS 69 is name of the batch of stuent who
graduated from BITS PILANI Rajasthan in the year 1969.while old boys Association comprises
the alumni down the year,BITS 69 is unique in that only students of the class of 1969 meet
to celebrate friendship.The meet includes family members too so the total members are much
more than the actual student from the batch of 1969.The association was formed in the year
1985 when Mr Manohar aheti, Ashok surekha and Mr Deepak Khosla tried to trace there
batchmates which accounted to 320 students from 1969 batch.This was a daunting task taken
by these persons as these 320 passout student had not only spread across the nation but
also globally.
The sustained effort showed some results when the first official directory of 134 students
from the batch of 1969 was oficially published and released in the year 1984.Over the
decade the effort showed more results as the persons were able to increase the count from
134 to 260 by the year 2004 and the official number of memebrs in the BITS 69 Batchmates
reached 260.
The first official social gathering for the BITS 69 was in the year 1987 with 75
families.Ever since the first official social gather which happened in the year 1987 the
participant experienced an exitement moments with old memories refreshed, which led them
to conclude for organising such social gathering with family members once every year.
Ever since 1987 there has been social gathering in the year 1991 , 1994, 1997 ,2003, 2006
and there are more togetherness planned in the year to come briginging the batch of 1969
community close to each other.
In the year 2004 the American Chapter took place in Washington DC in the month of August
with 29 out of 34 members attenting the alumni Meet.
