ABOUT BITS EDUCATIONAL TRUST
BITS’69 graduates have one of the longest associations and have appeared
in the LIMCA Book of Records. The association meets at least once every
three years both in India and the USA. The Trust Fund was started at our
“Mumbai Magic” meeting in October of 2006.
The Trust is registered in Delhi and has 9 trustees all having graduate from
BITS Pilani in 1969.
PROGRAMS / ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN
(i) Adoption of Devli Village School, Bharatpur District. On behalf of the
Trust, the coeducational school upto class X is being adopted by Mr. K.D.
Singh.
(ii) Adoption of Saidpur Village School, Bhiwadi, Alwar District. On behalf
of the Trust this 230 students school (majority girls) is being adopted by
Mr. Om Gupta.
Saidpur village, Bhiwadi, Alwar district has 2500 residents and a government
school attended by 230 students. The majority are girls. The school is till
VIII class and the village is located 2 ˝ km from the residential area of
Bhiwadi. The village is not fully electrified and has majority of pucca
homes.

(iii) Extending support to Pratham Shiksha, Jaipur. Run by Mrs. Sumiti
Mittal this school in Jaipur provides English medium curriculum to 120
underprivileged children from the Kacchi basti of Shyam Nagar. On behalf of
the Trust this school is adopted to Mr. Ashok Sureka.


(iv) Extending financial help to Vimukti Girls School, Jaipur. The school
coordinator is Mrs. Bharti Sharma, wife of our batchmate Mr. S.C. Sharma.
The school is for the deprived and underprivileged girl child of the city.
On behalf of the Trust the school is adopted by Mr. P. Batlivala.
